The creative classroom . . .

promotes an environment in which thinking and creativity flourish.

engages students in the active pursuit of  knowledge.

motivates students to explore beyond the textbook.

Spring is here!

As days get longer and flowers burst into bloom, students of all ages display newfound surges of energy. Tap into that energy and channel it in a way that promotes learning of content and language!

•    Reporting on butterflies Have students study the life cycle of a butterfly and present their findings to the class. Encourage them to create and use in their presentations illustrations labeled in the target language. Provide assistance with the labels, as needed.

•    Writing about Spring  Spring is the season for change, from the clothes we wear, to the foods we eat and the activities we do. Have students express these changes by completing and illustrating this sentence starter in the target language: In Spring . . . . (Examples: In Spring, I wear shorts and a T-shirt; In Spring, I eat strawberries; In Spring, I ride my bike.) Have students share their work with the class.
